To celebrate International Women’s day 2023, we wanted to brew a beer alongside some of the coolest, hardest working and all around best women working in pubs and bars in the North West and beyond!

Starting with this year’s fantastic Pink Boots hop blend from YCH (a blend of Loral, Ekuanot and an experimental varietal HBC 586) we handed the rest of the recipe development over to the wisdom of crowds, with head brewer Ben simply there to compile the feedback into a solid recipe based on the constraints of our brewkit. The opinions were almost unanimous, everyone wanted a 6% (ish) super hoppy, extra juicy NEIPA.

On brewday, as well as pitching in to help with almost every aspect of the process, our collaborators also took part in a sensory hop sampling session to choose the very hops to be added alongside the Pink Boots blend into the finished beer. After some extensive hop sampling and blending, the group consensus was that Citra and El Dorado hops paired especially well with Pink Boots and so the choice was made.

I know it’s a cliché, but we really do hope you enjoy drinking this beer as much as we did making it, and we would like to thank the following amazing women who took the time away from running their awesome businesses to spend the day brewing with us:

Grace - The Bailey Head, Oswestry
Leanne - Beer Engin, Whiston
Aggy - The Little Taproom on Aigburth Road, Liverpool
Rosie - R&G’s Beer Vault, Macclesfield
Lisa & Sarah - That Beer Place, Chester
Zoe - Shot & Chaser, Southport
Dani - Head Of Steam, Liverpool

The beer will be available for an exclusive launch at all of their amazing venues on Friday 7th April along with a national launch and we will have bottles available over at our webshop available to be shipped nationwide as well.
